Profile

Maria Alfaro is an environmental scientist with a background in aquatic and ecosystem science research. Her work has focused on nutrient dynamics, biogeochemistry, phytoplankton and cyanobacteria ecology, and water quality assessment within a range of systems—stream, lake, wetland, and marine. Through her research and academic career, Maria has had extensive experience in field, laboratory, and data analysis settings, and in mentorship and coordination of undergraduate student research across these settings. She has led and conducted independent research projects, as well as contributed to collaborative, multidisciplinary teams. In her new role at EHS Support, she is committed to prioritizing quality and supporting projects to advance sediment and water quality solutions.
