Profile

Rocio is a motivated Environmental Scientist with over four years of contaminated land and environmental monitoring experience. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Rocio immigrated to Australia in 2017 looking to develop a career in the environmental industry. Her environmental experience in Australia was kicked off by completing a Diploma on Environmental Monitoring at Tafe, which provided hands-on experience in the industry.

She has a diverse background in soil and water assessments, dust, noise and vibration monitoring, and preparation of management plans and risk assessments and is proficient in data collection and analysis, environmental monitoring, QGis mapping, and project management. In addition to her technical experience, she co-founded a non-for-profit NGO called “SinHuella” that aimed to address sustainability and environmental conservation awareness in the community as well as lead rehabilitation projects for heavily eroded areas destined for outdoor recreation activities.
