As a project manager and senior technical lead on multi-disciplinary environmental assignments around the world, Tom Biksey conducts risk assessments in a cost-effective manner that demonstrates responsibility for assessment of potential risks and ensures environmentally sound protective strategies. With over 40 years of experience, his primary responsibilities include human health and ecological risk assessments, risk-based remedial alternative selection, and risk communication.Tom helps risk managers eliminate unwarranted remediation activity by identifying aggressive remediation goals for realistic risk-reduction. He conducts risk analysis for insurance liability and provides expert testimony and legal support for recovery of cleanup costs and safe remediation of sites.Tom interacts on the client’s behalf with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and state regulators, as well as various international, regional, and local departments and authorities. As a client advocate, he provides overall technical guidance to teams developing risk-based solutions to environmental management issues. He also provides technical and negotiating support to clients pursuant to regulatory permitting, due diligence, fate and transport modeling, natural resource assessments, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) activities, and licensing requirements.
