As a Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist, you will provide technical support and capability to develop and deliver a diverse range of groundwater projects. Some our clients include; Alcoa of Australia, ARTC, Vic Track, Colac Otway Shire Council, Geelong City Council, City of Greater Dandenong, City of Darwin, Department of Environment and Energy (Federal), Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (VIC), Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (QLD), Santos, Origin Energy, Arrow Energy, Armour Energy, Denison Gas, APPEA, Orica, Cleanaway and Qantas. You will work closely with the company directors and senior leaders both in Australia and Overseas to help implement the business plan for development of our Auditing and Compliance (includes landfills) and Remediation Service Line within Victoria and neighbouring geographies.

Job Description

Candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to projects across multiple service lines including site assessment/ remediation, environmental audit /compliance, water resources and oil and gas.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Supervising subcontractors and undertaking field work (e.g. drilling, well installation, groundwater monitoring)
  • Management and analysis of field and technical data
  • Reporting (work plans, environmental site assessment reports)
  • Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budgets
  • Developing relationships with clients

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters degree (hydrogeology, geology, or relevant environmental science or environmental engineering)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the environmental site assessment/ remediation sector including field work, overseeing and managing contractors technical report writing, project and/or task management and project delivery
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations
  • High appreciation and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

You will have the skill and motivation to add value to the areas listed above. You will be able to conceptualise and bring order to complex concepts and have an eye for detail with appreciation of the bigger picture. You will be committed to owning tasks and possess the drive to exceed the expectations of internal and external clients. You will have the ability to work independently while being supported by other practitioners. You will have excellent technical writing and oral communication skill. Australian experience and a current ability to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) is required.
