EHS Support delivered the development of an Environment Plan (EP) for Mineral Resources, supporting the construction and connection of a new gas pipeline as part of the Ashburton Infrastructure project. The EP was prepared to identify, assess, and manage environmental impacts and risks associated with the pipeline works, ensuring compliance with applicable Western Australian petroleum and environmental
regulatory requirements.
The EP defined the scope of petroleum activities and operational boundaries consistent with guideline requirements and addressed all project phases requiring environmental management and control. Activities covered by the EP included civil works associated with site preparation and access, pipeline construction and installation, hydrotesting activities to verify pipeline integrity, and site rehabilitation to restore disturbed areas following construction.
The EP ensured that environmental impacts and risks associated with each activity were systematically identified and assessed, with management measures developed to reduce risks to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and to acceptable levels. The EP incorporated environmental management controls, monitoring and reporting requirements, and rehabilitation objectives appropriate to the scale and nature of the pipeline works. Through this approach, EHS supported regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and effective environmental performance across the full lifecycle of the pipeline activity.
