In late-2013, light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) and dissolved phase hydrocarbon (DPH) plumes originating from an underground condensate delivery line were identified on the north side of the Gas Plant. We were able to resolve a specific issue relating to static generation that was holding up implementation of a soil vapour extraction (SVE) system. EHS Support prepared the conceptual design for the SVE system and worked with our contractor to modify what was already approved for the island process gear (the “box”).
We provided the system expertise during the design review (HAZID / HAZOP), prepared a Project Execution Plan, and developed and operation and maintenance (O&M) framework and plan.
We have been the lead for the O&M for the last 4 years. This includes updating the O&M manual to reflect changing conditions, ensuring the system performs as intended, maintaining and evaluating the data and preparing quarterly reports, and troubleshooting and optimising.
EHS Support are currently finalising a shutdown plan which will allow the system to be shut down in a manner that will be acceptable to the regulator and transition to natural source zone depletion
