EHS Support delivered the development of a single consolidated Environment Plan (EP) on behalf of Strike Energy to support the ongoing care and maintenance of four suspended conventional gas wells in the Shire of Three Springs, Mid West region of Western Australia.
The EP consolidated activities previously managed under four separate EPs into a single operations EP, providing a streamlined regulatory framework for the continued management of suspended wells.
The EP assesses and manages environmental impacts and risks associated with well care and maintenance activities, including routine inspection, monitoring, and maintenance, as well as well intervention, testing, and workover activities where required. Activity specific control measures, environmental performance outcomes, monitoring requirements, and reporting arrangements were developed to demonstrate that environmental impacts and risks will be managed to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and to acceptable levels. The EP also provides a mechanism for future revision should Strike propose additional activities not currently provided for, ensuring continued alignment with regulatory requirements and good practice
