When environmental matters reach the courtroom, expertise matters. EHS Support is one of Australia’s most experienced environmental litigation support and expert witness consultancies, having assisted legal teams, government agencies, corporations and private clients across a broad range of environmental disputes and regulatory proceedings. Our experts have provided evidence in courts and tribunals throughout Australia and are supported by a multidisciplinary team of environmental scientists, engineers and specialist consultants. This combination of courtroom experience and technical depth allows us to deliver evidence that is credible, defensible and grounded in sound science.
We don’t simply prepare expert reports; we help clients understand what the science actually says, where risks and liabilities exist, and how technical evidence will withstand scrutiny in regulatory proceedings, commercial disputes and litigation.
Our areas of expertise include:
- PFAS and Emerging Contaminants Litigation Support
- Environmental Forensics
- Source Attribution
- Environmental Liabilities and Cost Allocation
- Regulatory Disputes and Environmental Planning
- Water Resource Assessment and Management
- Environmental Approvals and Impact Studies
An Experienced Technical Team
Our team combines experienced expert witnesses with highly specialised environmental scientists, engineers, hydrogeologists, auditors and risk assessors. This depth of capability enables us to investigate complex matters, critically assess technical evidence, respond to opposing experts, and develop robust, defensible opinions supported by sound science.
Our Expert Witness and Litigation team have provided expert evidence in the Supreme Courts of Queensland and Victoria, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT), and the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT). We regularly work alongside many of Australia’s leading environmental law firms and remain actively involved in professional organisations including the Queensland Environmental Law Association and the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association. These long-standing relationships have been built through decades of expert witness and litigation support assignments.
Unlike many expert witness practices built around individual specialists, our experts are supported by a broader team of technical practitioners who assist with data collection, analysis, modelling, forensic investigations and quality review. This approach allows us to deploy the expertise each matter requires and ensure opinions are supported by rigorous technical analysis.
When specialised expertise is required beyond our core disciplines, we draw upon a trusted network of leading practitioners with whom we have long-standing professional relationships. By combining our in-house capability with carefully selected external specialists, we are able to build multidisciplinary teams tailored to the unique technical and legal issues of each dispute.
