Landfill Siting & Approvals

At EHS Support, we assist clients in siting new landfill development, paying attention to physical and legislative constraints, as well as aiding in the preparation of works approval and development applications for new facilities. Potential sites are assessed on the basis of a matrix comparison of factors including availability of appropriate buffers, waste-management planning context, hydrogeological conditions, ecological considerations, appropriate sizing, community concerns and design factors.

Regulatory Compliance

Regulatory agencies require increased compliance and approvals for a range of risk management and mitigation processes, including auditing of landfills during their operational life and regulating closed landfills in a variety of forms, such as legacy sites that are often not engineered and have not effectively contained wastes or may have diminished buffers as a result of encroachment from surrounding land development.
